The Red Sea, the main attraction of Egypt, is considered to be the warmest sea on Earth, and due to that fact it attracts a large variety of sea animals. Approximately one thousand of marine species may be found here: corals, sea stars, turtles, dolphins, sea-horses, most varied species of fish, morays and others. Likewise, an inseparable part of underwater world is formed by the ships sank in the Red Sea. This is one of the best places in the world for water sports lovers. Here you may underwater swimming, windsurfing, sailing.
There probably is not any other country, so interestingly combining modernity and traditions. The country of pyramids, sphinxes and temples of pharaohs will leave unforgettable memories in your memory.
Egypt joins the north-east of Africa and South-West of Asia. Its maximal length from the North to the South is 1025 km and from the East to the West - 1240 km.
Deserts, covering 90% of the land surface, extend from the Atlantic coast in the west to the Central Asia in the east. Deserts are inhabited by 1% of the population of the country, except oases, which are rather densely populated.
The Red Sea with a depth of 2359 m extends from the North to the South on 1932 km and from the East to the West on 306 km. A large divergence in the earth’s crust extends through the Akaba Gulf from the Dead Sea and farther to the South through the Red Sea to the Eastern Africa. The calm sea is full of coral shelves and reefs.
